Karwa Chauth was a festival popular in north India, till the time Aditya Chopra and later Karan Johar immortalised it in films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, leading to it becoming a pan India event.
While designer sieves (chalnis) are being sold these days, Bollywood’s glamorous women are also celebrating it with pomp.
Anil Kapoor’s wife Sunita Kapoor held one such event on Thursday on the occasion of Karwa Chauth that was flocked by many celebrities and family friends.
Raveena Tandon and Shilpa Shetty Kundra got together at the Kapoor house. Raveena’s husband Anil Thadani and Shilpa’s husband Raj Kundra joined the celebrations a bit later. Also spotted were Padmini Kolhapure, Neelam with husband Sameer Soni, Maheep Sandhu and husband Sanjay Kapoor, Mohit Marwah and wife Antara Motiwala. Also present was Janhvi Kapoor. Satish Kaushik too was conspicuous by his presence by virtue of being one of the closest friends of Anil Kapoor. Directors like David Dhawan with wife Lali and Rumi Jaffery with his wife were spotted too. Making a stylish entry was Farah Khan who also came in albeit a little later into the evening.
The quick-witted Sanjay Kapoor made a statement by holding out the sieve to the paparazzi as he stepped out with Maheep.
