Rishi Kapoor to make a special appearance in Nawazuddin starrer Manto

Mumbai: Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor will beseen in a special role in actress filmmaker Nandita Das' 'Manto'.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who plays the lead role of Saadat Hasan Manto, today took to Twitter to thank Rishi for joining the cast.

"It was indeed a pleasure sharing the screen with @chintskap Sir. What an amazing energy you possess even now," he wrote.

The 64-year-old actor also thanked Nawaz and expressed a desire to work with him in future.

"Thank you Nawaz! Did that bit for Nandita Das and 'Manto'-title role played by you. We will have fun working together in the future. Regards!" Rishi tweeted.

Om Puri was supposed to play a character in the film, but the actor passed away earlier this year and there can be a possibility that Rishi has replaced him in the movie.

'Manto' also stars Rasika Dugal in the role of the writer's wife Safiyah.
