The film, which is backed by the producer of Andhadhun, Sanjay Routray, has the two actors playing an interesting cat-and-mouse game in this thriller called Monica O My Darling. It is apparently based on RD Burman’s super-hit song by the same name, which was sung to perfection by Asha Bhosle and him for the 1971-film Caravan.
Incidentally, Rajkummar has worked with Routray earlier in his career when he did the 2011-film Ragini MMS, which was also produced by the latter.
According to a trade source, the film is a riveting tale about computer intelligentsia. “The script was written almost ten years ago and has now been brushed up keeping all the modern technology in mind. Rajkummar came on oard because of the good bond he shares with Routray; Huma was chosen soon after,” the source adds.
The film is being directed by Vasan Bala, who’d previously directed the 2018-action–comedy Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota.
