Film body boycotts Gauahar

The Gauhar Khan controversy doesn't seem to have ended with her team's statement thus far

Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had recently filed a case against the actress for allegedly going out during her isolation after apparently testing COVID positive. She was being booked for negligence, the actress’ team had denied that she was positive and furnished a negative report.

However, now the film body — Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), which is headed by BN Tiwari — has despatched a non-cooperation directive for two months against the actress. In effect, it means no film worker will work on any set starring the actress. Additionally, those who worked with her recently are required to get tested and quarantined, as needed.

“We have told all the members to distance themselves from being associated with Gauahar Khan for the next two months until a fresh directive is issued by the FWICE. We are already facing difficult times and such irresponsible behaviour will put more people’s lives at risk,” says Tiwari said.

Not one to be brow beaten, the actress posted, “Innshallah maa as saabreen Sabr n Shukr. - The truth shall always prevail.”
