Mumbai: Katrina Kaif’s much awaited film ‘Fitoor’ finally released and it bombed at the box office. While audience blames 'Fitoor's director Abhishek Kapoor for the film's failure, an insider has a completely different story to tell.
As reported by DNA, film’s director Abhishek Kapoor and the producers had various creative differences related to the film. The director and producers never stood on the same ground. Be it film’s direction or marketing, they never saw eye-to-eye.
Now a source close to the director has revealed that Abhishek wanted to follow the original story in Charles Dickens’ ‘Great Expectations as he never wanted to focus on Katrina and Aditya’s characters’ love story. Originally, the director wanted to throw light on the conflict between Tabu and Katrina’s characters. However, the producers had a different plan altogether.
In the end, the plot changed and ‘Fitoor’ became a love story of Katrina and Aditya’s characters, Noor and Firdaus. The reports further reveal that Abhishek didn’t want to film Pashmina track, which wasn’t actually part of the film. The director didn’t want the song to be aired but eventually, the producers ignored Abhishek’s disapproval and released the song.
