When Karan Johar saw a business opportunity, he grabbed it! He presented S.S. Rajamouli’s Baahubali in the North. And it looks as if the business partnership is growing stronger. Rajamouli has announced that he will be presenting Ayan Mukerji’s magnum opus, Brahmastra, in four South languages. The success of Baahubali made Rajamouli believe in the commercial success of Brahmastra, as he finds the two movies similar in many respects.
At the poster launch of Brahmastra, the RRR filmmaker said, “The concept of Brahmastra is unique — both its story and presentation. In many ways, it reminds me of Baahubali — a labour of love and passion. I have seen Ayan invest time in making Brahmastra, patiently putting it together to get it right, much like I did for Baahubali.”
He adds, “The film perfectly marries themes from ancient Indian culture with modern technology, and the cutting edge VFX will blow your mind! A filmmaking journey that I can relate to - Ayan’s vision is a new chapter in Indian cinema.”
At the Brahmastra Motion Poster Launch in Hyderabad, Rajamouli enthusiastically took over the role of host. The event, which was followed by a Q&A round for the media, was completely dominated by Rajamouli, who did not let the cast answer the media’s questions, but instead, asked them his own series of questions.
One such question he posed to his dear friend Karan Johar, whom he referred to as “The man who’s always after money” — Rajamouli asked Karan why he had come on board a movie like Brahmastra without knowing the returns it would generate, although he usually only takes up projects that will make him rich. Taking it in good spirit, Karan explained that the movie was a passion-driven project for him. And, with a sly smile, he added that his show Koffee with Karan was always there to make him money....
