Rishi Kapoor's treatment begins
We’ve known for a few weeks that Rishi Kapoor is seriously ill. Late last month, the actor tweeted about his intention to take a leave of absence from work to travel to the USA for medical treatment, and he requested his well-wishers not to speculate.
Now, his treatment has finally begun in New York City, and his family is by his side in his hour of need. Rishi’s wife Neetu, his son Ranbir, and Ranbir’s girlfriend Alia Bhatt have all taken time off to be with him in NY.
A source close to the family says, “Rishi is facing this setback very bravely. He’s not willing to let the disease depress or defeat him. He didn’t want anyone except his wife Neetu with him during the treatment. But Ranbir insisted on being there, and so did Alia. Both of them have taken time off from the shooting of Bramhastra to be in NY.”
According to a source, Karan Johar and Ayan Mukerjee, the producer and the director of Bramhastra, who are close friends of Ranbir, are also expected to join the Kapoor family in NY at some point in the near future.
The source adds, “Rishi’s elder sister has bravely battled the disease for seven years. Rishi is a fighter. He will emerge a winner.”
