And thanks to her popularity in the south, the film seems to be doing surprisingly well in those markets too. One wouldn’t expect a film like Manmarziyaan, which has a distinctive Punjabi flavour to it, to be well-received by South Indian audiences.
But it looks like the film’s leading lady has done the trick. “The makers of Manmarziyaan are increasing the number of screens in the south because of Taapsee Pannu’s immense popularity,” a source reveals. The film, directed by Anurag Kashyap, also features Abhishek Bachchan and Vicky Kaushal in the lead.
