Kiara Advani is the name that has gained recognition ever since her performance in Karan Johar’s version of Lust Stories has been appreciated. Her life has changed in the right sense post that since she bagged movies like Good News with Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan, and she will shake a leg with Shahid Kapoor in Urvashi Urvashi recreation.

On the brand front too, she has turned the face of a sports brand, which was originally endorsed by Tiger Shroff. Deccan Chronicle spoke to her exclusively about various things. Here are the excerpts from the interview:

After Tiger Shroff, you are associated with the brand. Do you think you have now turned the next fitness icon thanks to that?

That’s a lot of pressure man! For me personally, fitness is more about a lifestyle. It’s not just about looking good but also doing stunts. For me it’s a 360 degree approach – whether it’s working out, food we eat, sleeping on time, everything comes together to be fit. I love dancing and outdoor activities. I like going to the gym, trying different routines of fitness – kickboxing, martial arts. I try to do a bit of everything so I make it exciting for myself and so there are no shockers for my body.

Any reason why we haven’t seen the fit side of you much?

My dream is to get a role where I get to do little bit of action. I put up some glimpses on my Instagram, but I’ll save the full-fledged action for big screen. I don’t want people to expect it of me. It’s fun when they’re surprised. And I think it’s exciting to challenge yourself, try new forms of physical activities and it’s not just to feel a particular way but also to feel good from the inside. A brisk walk too can really rejuvenate you.

From just another name to gaining fame, what changed?

It’s an exciting time in my life but I’m still the same person. My family will give me one tight slap if they feel there’s any change. I just enjoy what I do – looking forward to going on a film set, being in front of the camera, interacting with many people. I’m fortunate to be living my dream.

With so many things happening – coming in KJo camp, bagging Good News, Urvashi Urvashi recreation, being linked to Sidharth and thus his film on Vikram Batra, how are you taking it all?

I’ve stopped reading the papers. I’m just focusing on work, not letting any rumours affect it. I’m really excited about the good things. I loved it that Karan saw the potential in me and put in his cape in me and I just want to live up to the belief that he’s put in me and I work really hard to make him proud because he’s seen so much potential in me.

You are quite popular in the South too, but Bollywood requires commitment. Do you think you'll be able to manage both? If yes, how?

I want to be a pan-India entertainer and entertain everyone who wants to watch me, so if there are good scripts regardless to the language, I would like to take it up and entertain as many people as I can. I am very fortunate that my first South film did so well and became such a big blockbuster and it has been such a great experience that I would surely love to keep entertaining that audience as well

Apart from acting, you are also making a mark in fashion. Do you want to do something in that stream?

At a later point in life, I would love to. It’s something that I enjoy doing, something I’m passionate about as well. Who knows may be I’ll start my own line at some point but right now my focus is on films, films and films and I’m enjoying this phase.

Kiara promoted Skechers Performance Mumbai Walkathon which will take place on 7th October at Bandra Kurla Complex.
