Vicky Kaushal opts out of Bhansali's Padmavati?
After the success of Bajirao Mastani, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are back in the SLB camp for the director’s next. This will be their third outing as a team after Ram-Leela and Bajirao Mastani.
For the new film titled Padmavati, it was speculated earlier that Vicky Kaushal has been roped in to play a pivotal role opposite Deepika Padukone. However, a source recently revealed, “Vicky Kaushal has opted out of the film considering that the role is very short in comparison to those played by Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.”
When contacted, the actor refused to comment. “I don’t want to say anything about Padmavati. I will start shooting my next film, Manmarziyan, soon,” he said. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali film is based on the life of queen Padmavati of Chittor, who performed jauhar (self-immolation of queens and female royals of Rajput kingdoms when faced with defeat at the hands of an enemy) when the ruthless Alauddin Khilji attacked her kingdom, wanting to keep her in his harem.
