Emraan Hashmi turns producer, collaborates with Tony D'souza

His earlier films Hamari Adhuri Kahani', Mr X', Ungli' and Raja Natwarlal' sank at the box office without a trace.

Emraan Hashmi, who was last seen in ‘Azhar’ has announced his new journey as a producer with his home banner Emraan Hashmi Films. The actor has joined hands with his ‘Azhar’ director Tony D’souza. Tony directed Emraan in 'Azhar', which was based on the life of former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, who was implicated in a cricket match-fixing scandal in 2000.

Emraan Hashmi has had a poor run at the box office the last few years. After The ‘Dirty Picture in 2011’, none of his films that followed made big moolah at the box office, despite some good performances by the actor. ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’, ‘Mr X’, ‘Ungli’ and ‘Raja Natwarlal’, all sank at the box office without a trace. But that seems to have changed with his latest sports biopic 'Azhar', which has earned him praises for his acting as well as gotten the cash registers ringing at the box office.

Seems like, with this new production venture, Emraan is all set to embark on a new journey.
