Parineeti's love for paratha
Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar has some light moments, at least off-camera. Director Dibakar Banerjee reveals one funny behind-the-scenes episode, involving Parineeti Chopra, Raghubir Yadav — and parathas!
There is apparently a scene where Parineeti has to be angry when Raghubir speaks. But instead of being angry, Parineeti would start laughing every time she caught sight of Raghubir. “We had done four or five takes. The light was going. Anil Mehta (the cinematographer) was looking at me, asking ‘What’s going on?’” shares Dibakar.
Pari chips in to explain — “He (Raghubir) was stuck on parathas and I was stuck on him!” She reveals that she finally managed to do the scene by avoiding looking directly at Raghubir, and instead, looking at a spot over his head. “Because I knew if I looked at him, the shooting wouldn’t happen,” she says.
Pari’s co-star and the film’s lead actor, Arjun Kapoor adds a sidelight to the story - “Because of Pari and Raghubirji, we ended up eating extra parathas basically just by sitting around. I don’t know if Dibakar sir has kept it in, but Pinky had a fit of burps while eating. I just did it naturally, there was no need for acting, because we had eaten so much by the end of the shooting!”
