Sidharth Malhotra to take a sabbatical?
After Jabariya Jodi received a not so favourable response at the box office, Sidharth Malhotra has decided to take a sabbatical from signing new films till he fathoms what kind of films he wants to do. The pressure gets more heightened as it is his second failure after Aiyaary.
His co-star Parineeti Chopra, who had also taken a break after her films Kill Dill and Daawat-e-Ishq did not perform well, might have influenced the actor.
But since the actor has Milap Zaveri’s Marjaavan as well as the Vikram Batra biopic Shershaah in the works right now, he is expected to wait and see the results of either or both the films before he takes his next call.
“Sid also has plans to turn producer, and he is assessing scripts that he can back as a maker as well as an actor in films that he feels he fits rather well. He is an intelligent actor who understands the nature of the film business, having worked here for seven years now,” says an industry source.
A while ago, during a media interaction, the actor had even said, “I am in the process of identifying stories that I can feel passionate about and attached to. I am keen to produce content to be able to creatively contribute to a film.”
