Toilet- Ek Prem Katha comments on mindset of people: Bhumi Pednekar

There are places in India where people have money to buy jewellery, but do not have money to build toilets, Bhumi says.

Mumbai: Manmarziyan, Bhumi Pednekar’s second film opposite Ayushmann Khurrana, may be on hold, but this actress can’t wait for Toilet-Ek Prem Katha to hit the screens. In fact, she is quite proud of the film that tackles a social issue.

“There are places in India where people have money to buy jewellery, but do not have money to build toilets. In all honesty, the film comments on the mindset of some Indian audiences. It is time for us to change and make toilets,” she says.

The film revolves around the love story of two simple characters. “An important message is being passed on through their love story. It will bring about a massive change in society and make women realise that having a bathroom is their right. They will fight for it one day,” says the actress.

Bhumi is rather clueless about the IPR controversy surrounding her film. “Our film is original. I am not aware of the exact case and I will not be able to comment on it,” says the actress, whose weightloss story from 90 kg to 55 kg is an inspirational one.
