For the longest time, there was major speculation regarding who would make it to the final cast of Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor’s joint production Veere Di Wedding. Finally, the makers roped in a curious combination of Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania.
Following the news of Kareena’s pregnancy, there were rumours that she may opt out of the project. However, the producers released an official statement confirming that the actress is still very much a part of the film.
“Kareena is a thorough professional and will start shooting for the film in August. Much like the spirit of our film, which celebrates the modern girl, Kareena is carrying on with her work and life as usual and we couldn’t be prouder to have her,” the statement said.
However, now it looks like the project has hit a stumbling block. We hear that the shoot, which was supposed to begin in August, has been delayed due to budget constraints. A source reveals, “Veere Di Wedding has been pushed as the producers have cancelled the hotel bookings in Delhi that was made for the crew for their stay in August. It was done at the eleventh hour due to over-budgeting.”
The makers, however, denied the talks. Reacting to the buzz, the film’s spokesperson said, “The rumour is factually incorrect. We haven’t locked on our final locations as yet.”
