Abhishek Bachchan impresses Zero helmer Aanand L Rai, bags multi-film deal

Deciding to do Anurag Kashyap’s 'Manmarziyan' is probably the best decision Abhishek Bachchan has taken in a while.

The actor, who hasn’t been seen on screen since 'Housefull 3' in 2016, is being lauded for his performance in 'Manmarziyan'.

Producer Aanand L. Rai is so profoundly impressed by Abhishek’s performance that he has signed the actor for a multiple-film deal that comes into effect in 2019.

Meanwhile, the buzz is that Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who was planning a biopic on the legendary poet-lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi for the second-half of 2019, has decided to prepone the project to the first-half of the year. To add to that, this film will feature Abhishek Bachchan in the lead.

Says a source close to the development, “Sanjay (Leela) Bhansali is simultaneously working on two productions, one of them launching his niece Sharmin and the other is the Sahir biopic.”

Alia Bhatt may be roped in to play Sahir Ludhianvi’s muse Amrita Pritam.
