Exclusive: Aamir to romance Katrina in Thugs of Hindostan, not his 'daughter' Fatima

Ever since Dangal’s Fatima Sana Sheikh was announced to be part of Vijay Krishna Acharya’s Thugs of Hindostan, there has been speculation on whether Aamir will be ‘romancing’ the young actress in the film.

The idea seems somewhat repugnant in the light of the fact that Fatima played the actor’s daughter in Dangal, and an informed source nixes the idea of the romance angle in the new Yash Raj movie.

“It’s not true,” the source says. “They don’t have a romantic relationship at all. To see Aamir romancing Fatima right after Dangal would be an exercise in tasteless and insensitive professionalism. Although Fatima is part of the cast, they’re not paired together. Aamir is paired with Katrina Kaif.”

Apparently, it was Vijay’s idea to approach Katrina, after a number of actresses turned down the part. “The heroine’s role was sketchy, to begin with. It’s now been fleshed out for Katrina’s sake,” the source says.
