Watch: Shahid, Alia, Kareena in Udta Punjab trailer, a bold take on drug abuse

Let’s admit it, we all were eagerly waiting for the trailer of 'Udta Punjab' after the makers released a series of impressive posters.

The trailer starts with an ominous message - 70% of Punjab youth are drug addicts. If this does not stop, Punjab will soon become like Mexico.

The film directed by Abhishek Chaubey deals with the murky state of affairs of a generation that finds pleasure in substance abuse. It revolves around the lives of four protagonists - Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh.

While Shahid looks every bit of the Punjabi rockstar, Tommy Singh, Alia impresses with her Bihari accent. On the other hand, Kareena plays a doctor who is determined to stop the illegal transportation of drugs. The film will also mark the Bollywood debut of Diljit, who will essay the role of a police officer.
