After Shaandaar debacle, Vikas Bahl is all set to direct Andaz Apna Apna sequel
Mumbai: After making waves with 'Queen', Vikas Bahl’s directorial career hit a roadblock with 'Shaandaar'. But, looks like he’s ready to put the debacle behind him. The filmmaker is all set to direct the sequel to the cult 1994 comedy 'Andaz Apna Apna'.
According to reports, he is talks with Preeti Sinha, the daughter of Vinay Kumar Sinha, who had produced the original 1994 film. If everything fall into place, the film will go on floors by the end of 2016.
In an interview to DC earlier, director Rajkumar Santoshi said that he plans a sequel to AAA, but strictly by public demand. “I don’t believe in creating a franchise by doing sequels or building my own brand. But the demand for a sequel to AAA is unbelievable. If I don’t do it someone else will. That I won’t allow. I’ve ideas for two sequels. One of them is about Amar and Prem married and their life thereafter.”
However, Aamir and Salman wouldn’t be reprising their famous character of Amar and Prem. The film will feature two popular young stars, whose roles will be modeled differently to that of the original central duo featured in 'Andaz Apna Apna'. The sequel will carry forward the story of the original and the two protagonists will take on new adventures.
