Fukrey Returns arrives four years after Fukrey and it’s a one year later continuation of the story from the first part. Fukrey Returns has the same star cast from the first film. The fukrey boys - Zafar (Ali Zafar), Hunny (Pulkit Samrat), Choocha (Varun Sharma) and Lali (Manjot Singh) will reprise their roles, along with Pankaj Tripathi and Richa Chadha in the key roles. While the original cast retains, actresses Priyanka Anand and Vishakha will also be in the sequel.

The entire cast and crew were present at the song launch event in Mumbai. The starcast interacted with the media and the fans.

When asked of any insecurity about his film releasing between two big releases like 'Padmavati' and Salman Khan's ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, the producer said, "Well, if you think our film will get sandwiched between the two big releases, I would say the meat of the sandwich is always much tastier, isn't it?"

"Honestly, I am not apprehensive about it. 'Fukrey Returns' won't be overshadowed because of its genre. I know how massive 'Padmavati' is, and 'Tiger...' is a Salman Khan film. But our film is a comedy, the genre is different," he added.

Richa Chadda, who will be reprising her lady gangster character, Bholi Punjaban, in the upcoming film, said, "I am definitely going to take full revenge on these boys after whatever they did to me (in the first film).”

Richa when asked about her opinion on Padmavati row said, “I do not think our culture and religion is so fragile that a film of two hours can ruin that.”

"On the other hand, we are living in a democratic country where we have an appointed board that certifies our film, I see no reason for commenting on a film without watching it," said Richa, who has acted in Bhansali's 'Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela' (2013).

Siddharth Mahadevan and Jasleen Royal followed the event with live performance. They crooned upcoming songs from the film. Fukrey Returns music jukebox will soon be released.

Directed by Mrigdeep Singh Lamba, Fukrey Returns is scheduled to arrive in theatres on December 15.
