Battle at the box office
In a box office record of sorts, eleven films will clash this week. Leading the XI will be Saif Ali Khan’s revenge saga Laal Kaptaan, in which he plays a Naga Sadhu character out to seek revenge. Produced by Anand L Rai, the film has NH10 and Manorama Six Feet Under director Navdeep Singh wielding the megaphone.
Pratiek Babbar’s film Yaaram along with Shraddha’s brother Siddhant Kapoor and Jimmy Shergill’s oddly titled film P Se Pyaar F Se Faraar are also among the films battling it out. Vikram Bhatt has also quietly slipped his horror flick Ghost in on the same day. Rabhubir Yadav’s festival flick Jacqueline I Am Coming, based on mental illness, is also releasing this Mental Health Week.
“It is a mad rush at the box office now, and that too a week before Diwali when filmmakers normally do not release their films. But with an increasing number of films being made and the big festivals being taken over by the stars, such instances are bound to happen,” explains a trade analyst.
