Mumbai: Ranveer Singh, who is enjoying his much awaited break in Switzerland with his guy gang, paid tribute to Yash Chopra – founder of Yash Raj Films that gave the actor his Bollywood break. The actor stopped by Interlaken’s Kursaal gardens during his Swiss holiday.
Before visiting the statue built at Interlaken Kursal Garden, Ranveer made his way to Hotel Victoria Jungfrau and stayed in the Yash Chopra suite where the legendary filmmaker used to stay whenever he visited Switzerland. It was an extremely emotional moment for Ranveer.
“Throughout my trips I performed many activities, and visited many places, but this one was ultimate. I cannot express in words as to how the feeling was. I was very touched and moved. The connection that I share with Yash Raj productions is something else. I am eternally grateful to Mr. Chopra and Yash Raj Films for giving me the career I have today," said Ranveer.
The actor went further and added, "Yash Chopra was like a father figure to me and I owe all to the chance Yash Raj films gave me. The very fact that the Swiss have built a statue in Mr. Chopra’s memory here shows the impact he made went far beyond Bollywood. Since I’m on holiday in Switzerland, I knew I absolutely had to come and pay my respects here. It’s been a truly emotional experience staying at the same place where he used to stay. And when I saw his statue live, it was as if he was actually around. For me in fact for every actor of the film fraternity, he is a mentor and a veritable legend of Indian cinema.”
