Watch: Shraddha Kapoor is malicious as Haseena Parkar in this gangster drama
Mumbai: Shraddha Kapoor, who has mostly played the girl next door in almost all her films, will be seen essaying a dark role for the very first time in Apoorva Lakhia’s upcoming gangster drama ‘Haseena Parkar’.
The film is based on the life of dreaded don Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar and the teaser of the film was revealed today.
The teaser, featuring Shraddha Kapoor and her actor brother Siddhanth (Dawood Ibrahim in the film), offers a glimpse into the life of Haseena Parkar, who had lived a normal family life before her husband was gunned down by men from Arun Gawli’s gang, prompting her to step up and be a part of the notorious ‘D-Company’ and eventually become the ‘Godmother’ of Nagpada.
From the teaser, it is evident that ‘Haseena Parkar’ has impeccable cinematography to boast of and a background score that is chilling and blends perfectly well with the theme, reminding us of Ram Gopal Varma’s cult gangland flicks like ‘Satya’, ‘Company’ and ‘Sarkar’.
Also, Shraddha is impressively sinister as Haseena and the fact that she has got some badass dialogues like, “Aapa yaad reh gaya na… naam yaad rakhne ki zaroorat nahi”, has made us all the more eager to watch this movie.
This film could be the game changer for this petite actress.
Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, ‘Haseena Parkar’, which stars Shraddha’s brother Siddhanth Kapoor as Dawood Ibrahim, is being presented by Swiss Entertainment and has been produced by Nahid Khan.
‘Haseena Parkar’ is slated to release on August 18.
