Tamil-Telugu blockbuster Mahanati weaves its magic, to get Adi-treatment' in Hindi?

The producer-director is reportedly interested in acquiring the dubbing rights to the Tamil-Telugu blockbuster.

Aditya Chopra, who prefers to stay away from the public eye, is willing to make public appearances on one condition to watch films along with ticket-paying audiences.

A close friend of the producer-director reveals, “Adi shuns all offers of private screenings as he feels he cannot get a proper feel of the audience’s reaction unless he is a part of the public. He slips in quietly for a regular show, makes hand-written notes during the screening, and slips out before he is recognised.”

This doesn’t apply to Bollywood films alone, Adi loves watching films in all languages. The latest film to get the ‘Adi-treatment’ is the Tamil-Telugu blockbuster, Mahanati. He is said to have watched the film on Tuesday and loved it.

“He has expressed an interest in acquiring the dubbing rights to the film. Adi feels that the film should reach audiences pan-India. He would’ve loved to remake it in Hindi, but it is a film that renders well in the Tamil-Telugu cultural context,” a source reveals.

The film’s co-producer, Priyanka Dutt, says, “We are definitely looking at a pan-India audience for Mahanati. And dubbing the film in Hindi is definitely one of our options. We are exploring various possibilities.”
