Sonu Nigam says there's no death threats against him; this Shiv Sena leader knows why
Singer Sonu Nigam was seen bonding with Sanjay Raut at the India Art Festival this week. Sanjay, besides being a Shiv Sena leader and editor of the party mouthpiece Saamna, is also producing a biopic on the Sena’s late leader Bal Thackeray.
On being asked about the movie, Sonu said, “They have taken Nawazuddin Siddiqui to play the lead in the film, and he’s a wonderful performer. I’m looking forward to seeing it because the family itself is making the film. I don’t think any ‘Sena’ will object to it; the film’s made by the Sena itself.”
Sonu had ruffled many feathers with his comments on azans being played on the loudspeakers, and had even received threats to his life by Dawood Ibrahim’s nephew Aamin Dawood Parkar. However, Sonu brushed it off saying, “There is no threat to my life.” Sanjay immediately interjected and said, “Since he’s with us now, there’s no threat to him here or anywhere else.” Now that’s a keen friendship brewing.
