The standouts of the Mardaani 2 obviously include Rani Mukerji, but also the young man who plays the villain.
While Yash Raj Films has still kept the name of this actor a mystery, we are told that he is in his early twenties and a newbie in films. The fast-paced trailer does not allow a clean look at his face, but we managed to screengrab a shot of his from the trailer. The bald actor plays a rapist in the film that targets minors in Rajasthan, and Rani Mukerji’s character Shivani Shivaji Roy plays cat and mouse with him.
“The filmmakers want to keep the mystery going about the villain like how they did for Tahir Raj Bhasin in the first instalment of Mardaani, directed by Pradeep Sarkar. Gopi Puthran, who also wrote the first part, is making his debut as a director with the sequel, and they have managed to keep the villain’s name a secret. While names like Ahaan Pandey were also being discussed, this one is surely a new face,” says a trade source.
Another source said that TV star Vishal Jethwa is playing the bad boy in the film. However, nothing is official yet.
