She may come across as petite and coy on first look, but this pretty Bollywood and Kollywood star is dauntless and wears her unabashed attitude on her sleeve. We caught up with Ileana D’Cruz, who was in Bengaluru on Thursday on the invitation of a Canadian lingerie brand over a candid conversation as she let us in on her reel and real life.
Looking stunning, she’s a sight to behold in a well-fitted black jacket, tights and a gold pendant engraved with ‘zero fu***’, albeit in tiny, easy-to-be-missed size, but our preying eyes couldn’t help notice it and we prod the feisty star on the same. Ileana who started out when she was 18 and always speaks her mind, replies, “My motto is ‘I don’t care’ and I don’t think anybody should. You have one life, enjoy it to the fullest and this pendant just speaks that.”
Nudge her about her love life and her holidays with Australian boyfriend Andrew Kneebone and Ileana who’s basking in the glow of love reveals, “He’s an amazing photographer and is one person who has taken photos of me, unlike anyone else. He takes the real me and most of them are natural, where I’m not decked up in make-up. I’ve never met anyone like him. He’s very stable, unique, filled with information and super supportive. He’s my strength. He’s very proud of my movies and there have been times when I’ve been critical and he tells me not to put myself down.”
When asked if he has watched her movies, she quips, “I’ve shown him only good movies of mine.” The couple likes to holiday often. “The last place we went to was Fiji and it was beautiful. We snorkeled a lot, did deep sea fishing and also did kayaking. I’m a complete beach bum.”
She did a cameo in a Kannada film Huduga Hudugi. “I’ve come to Bengaluru for Main Tera Hero where we shot in a college. I love this city and the pleasant weather.”
The Barfi and Rustom star is excited about her upcoming movies, Baadshaho and Mubarakan she states how they’re both from different genres and have an ensemble cast.
“Baadshaho is with Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi and Esha Gupta and my role is challenging. Mubarakan is with Arjun Kapoor, Amrita Singh, Anil Kapoor, and Athiya Shetty. I’m starting shooting next month.”
