Shraddha Kapoor amused by comparisons to Saina Nehwal
A movie on Saina Nehwal is probably the most talked about biopic in India’s entertainment industry currently, and actress Shraddha Kapoor, who will be seen playing Saina’s role, is leaving no stone unturned to deliver a stellar performance in the film. In fact, the actress, who reached Hyderabad last week for a shoot schedule of her upcoming action film Sahoo, took time off her busy schedule to meet and practice with the ace shuttler.
“Saina gave me very basic tips on playing badminton. I played a little with her. She upgraded my knowledge about the game, especially about the shots. Saina told me that each and every shot needs to be hit as hard as possible. Never hit any shot without your full strength,” says the actress.
And what about dietary tips or restrictions? “I was not given any tips about the diet specifically. One thing I can tell you guys, Saina told me to know the game thoroughly. The more you know the game, the more perfect you get in the game. The more sessions you play, you perfect the game and increase your stamina as well. Also, you can play to the best of your ability,” mentions the actress.
The actress reveals that she was taken by surprise when people started comparing the real and reel Saina. “Yes! I was more than surprised when my picture with Saina Nehwal was posted and I started getting comments stating: ‘You look like her sister.’ I was really feeling very happy about this fact,” she says.
As we noticed the glowing face of the actress, we asked if it is because she just returned from a holiday? “No, not because of having enjoyed a holiday in Italy. That got over a while ago. I am looking fresh as I practiced badminton with Saina in Hyderabad. I love the city as the people are so homely and loving. This time I had a chance to spend a little time with Saina and got to know about the game as well,” she explains.
However, this is not the first time that Shraddha has come to the city of Nizams. “I have been here a couple of times. And now, since I am doing a film with Prabhas, I have to commute up and down which I always look forward to especially for the biryani which I ate here in Hyderabad. I am a foodie and food in Hyderabad is delicious so this is one reason I always crave to come to the city. I love eating… but people may not agree. Give me food and I will hog but I hate cooking,” adds Shraddha.
