Mumbai: Songstress Sunidhi Chauhan, who turned 34 on Monday, is expecting her first child with composer husband Hitesh Sonik.
Although she is in her fifth month of pregnancy, Sunidhi is continuing with her song recordings and has only put live shows on hold. On the day of her birthday, she recorded a song for Sajid Khan of Sajid-Wajid duo.
While speaking to a tabloid, Sunidhi revealed her birthday plans. She said, “Our families and friends wanted to meet so there was a gathering at home but it wasn’t planned. Most of the time, I end up working on my birthday and this one was no different in that sense. Birthdays come once a year so I try to do something with my loved ones.”
The mother-to-be does not feel the need to put her singing career on hold. “I have to be careful so live shows post-October will be on hold. I’ll return to them after six-seven months. But singing is not stopping because it doesn’t need to. I’m happy recording songs in Mumbai. I’m at peace and I don’t have to run from one place to another,” revealed the singer.
As far as delivery of the baby is concerned, Sunidhi will let the families take over since they know better. “I have been preparing myself mentally but I have four-and-half months to go before the baby arrives. I’m new to this so I don’t know how to plan. Our respective families will have a go at it because they know better. Hitesh, of course, is really excited like any father-to-be,” she concluded.
