Not interested in Farhan's show and it is not based on me, Preity calls out a daily
Mumbai: Actress and owner of Indian Premiere League (IPL) cricket team Kings XI Punjab, Preity Zinta, is fuming with anger over an alleged fake report on her.
It so happened that a daily claimed that an upcoming web series by Farhan Akhtar, titled ‘Inside Edge’, is based on her alleged fling with former IPL Chairman Lalit Modi who was ousted for alleged fraud and money laundering back in 2010.
The report states that a bondage scene between two characters- boss and one of the team owners- is loosely based on Modi and Zinta. In the series, the female team owner makes sexual favours to the boss after facing terrible financial losses.
Reacting to this ‘fake news’, an irate Preity took to micro-blogging site Twitter to rubbish the report. She wrote: Dear @dna this is absolutely FAKE NEWS. I have never called up Farhan nor am I interested in the show nor any character is based on me.

Farhan’s show is based on the cricket extravaganza Indian Premiere League (IPL) and stars Vivek Oberoi as the Chairperson and Richa Chadha as one of the team owners.
The same daily has even claimed that the actress went out of her way to cover this piece of information by calling producer Farhan Akhtar and asking him to show her the final cut of the intense love-making scene before streaming it.
Directed by Karan Anshuman, ‘Inside Edge’ will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video in July.
We wonder if the piece is true or a figment of someone’s imagination?!
