Arjun Kapoor opens up on his thoughts on love ahead of Half Girlfriend release
Mumbai: Ahead of Arjun Kapoor and Shradha Kapoor’s next release, ‘Half Girlfriend,’ Arjun Kapoor spoke about his thoughts on love and the impression of it in the minds of the youth today.
When prodded on the same, Arjun said, “There are so many other responsibilities. Pyaar karna aasan hota hai lekin nibhana mushkil (It is very easy to fall in love but very difficult to sustain it) Love in today’s times has become fickle minded and temporary as well unlike the days of the past when falling in love would culminate into marriage thus love was permanent then. Falling in love but then not being able to sacrifice various things is also one reason for not keeping ones love going.
Usually, a boy of today’s generation wishes to first settle down in life, have enough of bank balance and a house to live in, wherein then being a little secured he then can go ahead and get married and carry on with a peaceful family life. Today’s youth is busy trying to settle down financially/professionally thus has very little time to spend with his love interest. There is a lot of competition as well so the youth need to concentrate sin their profession to e bale to secure their future.”
Elaborating on the life of youngsters, Arjun added, “Aaj ke ladke and ladkiyan have no time for nurturing love and taking it to another level. Shaadi ke pehle hi sab settled ho jana chahte hai (this generation desires to settle down before getting married) wherein, earlier generation would get married and then alongside taking care of their family they would go ahead settling down in life slowly and gradually. Now a day’s no one has time to keep nurturing their lovelife has taken such a turn that every youth wishes to establish himself financial and professionally before tying the knot. Life has to be sorted for today’s youth even before he gets into the marriage .So payar ka mentav or vichar bhi badl gaya hai [meaning of love and the thought process of love too has change in today’s times.)”
“For me getting married, however, there is no pressure at all. I firmly believe in the institution of marriage. Getting married is equally important for me and it’s an amazing association between two people. But I do not know when it will happen,” he concluded.
'Half Girlfriend,' a reel adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's book of the same name, has been directed by Mohit Suri and is slated to release on May 19.
