Exclusive: It was difficult to adapt Mumbai as the backdrop, says Noor director

The director, Sunhil Sippy, says that the film that's based on the book Karachi You're Killing Me, is dedicated to all Mumbaikars.

Sonakshi Sinha-starrer Noor, set against the backdrop of Mumbai, has been shot in different parts of the city. The director, Sunhil Sippy, says that the film that’s based on the book Karachi You’re Killing Me, is dedicated to all Mumbaikars.

“It was difficult to adapt Mumbai as the backdrop. But, when this project came to me, I was very clear about bringing it to life in Mumbai. Saba Imtiaz (author of Karachi You’re Killing Me) had Karachi as her backdrop because that was her city and I have Mumbai because it is mine. When you watch the film though, you’ll realise that the story does as much justice to Mumbai as the book does to Karachi,” he said. Noor is set to hit the screens on April 21.
