I follow what I preach: John Abraham

John Abraham talks about the challenges of being a producer, health tips for the youth and his upcoming film Rocky Handsome.

Over the years John Abraham has reinvented himself continuously, as a model, an actor, and a producer, and has been successful in all of them.

Talking about the challenges of production, John says, “I live by certain rules…I don’t bribe anyone and yes, it sometimes becomes tough for us to get certain permissions from the municipality or other government officials.”

He adds, “For me credibility matters more than money. I do not believe in any short cuts and I follow what I preach. Whether it’s producing films with good content, keeping healthy, etc.”

He is also planning to take his health tips to the youth. “I will be going to Los Angeles in May to get a nutrition certification. Thereafter I will be giving know-how about natural supplements to the youth in order to make them understand the importance of health over six packs.”

Living in his own terms in the industry hasn’t always been easy for John. “I have been vocal about my wish of not dancing in weddings. Those who do it, it’s their choice, but personally I detest it. For this I faced a lot of opposition, but what I want to do as a person is totally my choice.”

Neither does he attend awards functions. He reasons, “I will not be wrong in saying that award functions are just a revenue generating process for channels. Why should I be a part of their revenue generating process? Secondly, the awards functions are very obvious. The winner is always aware that he or she is going to get the award. For me, all these are not very honest. Having said this, I believe Ranveer Singh deserves his award.”

John is confident that audiences will love his forthcoming project Rocky Handsome. “We always take up content that touches the hearts of the audiences. We are not over confident, but we are confident.”
