Ranveer asked Deepika for kiss while she did Mehendi, here's what happened next
The time is finally arriving! It is D-day for the much-awaited star couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh (DeepVeer)’s wedding. They are taking this step after 6 long years of dating.
DeepVeer engagement, Mehendi, sangeet and a few more ceremonies took place last night, and to begin with, they were cute and fun all at once.
SpotBoye went on to reveal that Konkani traditional Phool Muddi ceremony took place, where the families performed puja and offered prayers, exchanging coconuts and turmeric powder. As per the ritual, Prakash Padukone also washed Ranveer’s feet and welcomed him into the family.
Speaking about the Mehendi ceremony, a source told Pinkvilla, “The ambience at the event was electric. Ranveer Singh has enjoyed the most at the Mehendi ceremony. He danced his heart out while his lady love was busy getting the Mehendi done. Old songs were being played. First Shubha Mudgal performed, followed by Harshdeep Kaur. Romantic songs, ghazals and sufi songs were performed. Followed by a performance by Ranveer. He also danced on the beats of dhol.”
Adds another source, “The security has been very strict and hence no photos of the bride and the groom have come out on social media. The phone cameras were sealed with stickers. Deepika’s family and Ranveer’s family also shook a leg with their kids. While Deepika got done a designer Mehendi, Ranveer too has got done a little design on the hand with #DeepVeer written!”
On the Sangeet ceremony, the source said, "A special guitar tribute was arranged for DeepVeer. It was a surprise sort of thing that the groom and bride’s family had planned for them. All the songs of Deepika and Ranveer were played on guitar. And it was so soothing and mesmerising that it compelled the lovebirds to come and shake a leg together. When a song from Bajirao Mastani, Aayat, was played, both Deepika and Ranveer couldn’t stop themselves from singing and hooting. Despite the mayhem of Mehendi and the guests, they made sure that they didn’t miss out this special tribute."
According to a Bollywood Life insider, “The power couple were at their happiest selves. It so happened that while Deepika was getting her mehendi done, Ranveer had taken the duty of feeding her. But on one condition; Ranveer demanded that she kisses him and only then he will give her food. Deepika was also no less. She teased him too and said that she will give him a kiss only after he feeds her!”
Their wedding will last for two days - today and tomorrow i.e. on November 14-15. The Konkani wedding takes place today, which will be followed by Anand Karaj, which happens to be the auspicious ceremony in Ranveer Singh’s caste.
