Born Khurshid Akhtar, director Vijay Bhatt had given her the screen name ‘Shyama’.
In a career spanning over 45 years, the actress had acted in nearly 175 films.
The actress had married cinematographer Fali Mistry in 1953. Mistry had passed away in 1979. The couple had three children, Farooq, Rohin and Shirrin.
