Remarkably, within just three days of hitting the screens, the movie has effortlessly surpassed the Rs 50 crore milestone, confidently securing its prestigious membership in the coveted Rs 200 crore club.

Under the directorial prowess of Anil Sharma, Gadar 2 has ignited impassioned discussions, particularly since the re-release of the original Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, which returned to theatres after a two-decade hiatus. The resurgence of the first instalment evoked a palpable excitement among the audience, a fervour that has now been magnified with the overwhelmingly positive reception of its sequel.

Day-wise earnings

The cinematic opus featuring Sunny Deol achieved an impressive collection of Rs 40.10 crore on its opening day. With a solid foundation laid, the film witnessed a remarkable surge on the second day, accumulating an astounding Rs 43.08 crores. The eagerly anticipated milestone of crossing the Rs 200 crore mark became an inevitable reality, solidifying its triumphant achievement.

As the third day concluded at the box office, reports suggest that the film has garnered an estimated Rs 52 crores, according to early projections. This accomplishment propels the film's total earnings to an impressive Rs 135.18 crore.

Alongside OMG 2

Despite facing competition from Akshay Kumar's OMG 2, Gadar 2 has emerged as the clear frontrunner. In just three days, the film secured an impressive collection of Rs 43.56 crore, overshadowing any notion of rivalry. Both films graced the theaters on August 11, 2023, amidst the simultaneous presence of Jailer, Bholad Shankar, and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.

Exploring Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001)

Gadar 2 serves as the follow-up to the acclaimed Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, a creation of director Anil Sharma as well. Positioned as a romantic-action drama, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha unfolded its narrative against the tumultuous backdrop of India's Partition. Within the film, Sunny Deol assumed the central role of Tara Singh, a Sikh truck driver hailing from Amritsar. His path intertwines with that of Sakeena (Ameesha Patel), a young Muslim woman originating from a politically prominent family in Lahore, Pakistan.
