Angry neighbours of Sanjay Dutt stall shoot of his biopic starring Ranbir Kapoor

The cast and crew had reportedly started shooting at 6 in the morning and continued for three hours.

Mumbai: Both Director Rajkumar Hirani and Ranbir Kapoor are sweating it out to do complete justice to Bollywood’s most versatile actor Sanjay Dutt’s biopic. And from what we have seen so far, it is safe to say they have done a commendable job at aping Dutt’s look. But Sanju’s neighbours seem to have faced inconvenience because of the team of Dutt biopic.

So when the cast and crew members of the film visited Dutt’s home at Imperial Heights in Pali Hill for shooting, they jammed the roads and made a mess out of the upmarket residential complex, and all hell broke loose!

The crew members, according to the secretary of the Pali Hill Residents' Association, Madhu Poplai, not only blocked the roads during peak hours but also left garbage littered on streets.

As per reports, the residents of the posh residential property took to streets and stalled the shoot for a good 40 mins, prompting Hirani to personally apologise to them and also request for a 10-min extension so that Ranbir could wrap up a scene he had been working on. A visibly sorry Hirani also promised to clean up the mess his crew had made out of their building.

Madhu Poplai reportedly said, “There was a scene where Ranbir was supposed to drive a Ferrari into Sanjay Dutt's house on Pali Hill. The rest of the shooting was supposed to take place inside the house. The shooting started from 6am and continued for three hours. Soon, it was time for people to go out for work or other daily tasks. But they were stuck in traffic congestion as the crew was shooting in middle of the road…As a result, the whole road was blocked. This obviously frayed the nerves. Also, the entire unit had littered the road. They threw paper plates, cups and other garbage everywhere. We were not even aware that such a shoot was to take place here. The film unit did not inform the residents' association nor did they seek any permission from us.”

The film crew, who were reportedly indifferent to repeated requests of clearing the roads, also confirmed the news to a daily, “There was a problem at Pali Hill and Hirani himself had to come out to apologise to the people. After the shoot, we made sure that all garbage was picked up and dumped at a proper place.”
