Pulwama terror attack: Bollywood celebs express anger on Twitter; read tweets

Srinagar: Bollywood celebrities today expressed their shock at the terror attack on a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy in J&K’s Pulwama on Thursday in which at least 44 soldiers were killed. Post the incident, terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Celebrities like Riteish Deshmukh, Paresh Rawal, Swara Bhasker and others showed their anger on social media.

Paresh Rawal wrote, "The perpetrators of PULWAMA dastardly act should be punished severely and decisively- target the enemies outside and within - we have responsibilities towards our Jawans ."

Riteish Deshmukh tweeted, "Absolutely tragic news coming from Pulwama - Condolences to the families of the martyrs- & prayers for the injured jawans. Cowards are at it again. Absolutely deplorable. pulwama terror attack".

Always vocal about social issues, actress Swara Bhasker expressed, "Shameful! Tragic & shocking. Jaish-e-Mohammed has brazenly & shamelessly claimed responsibility. These monsters have no soul, no humanity. Pure evil! Why does this terrorist group have safe haven in Pakistan? Imran Khan RIP our brave soldiers, strength to bereaved families."

Alia Bhatt tweeted, "The Pulwama attack is despicable. My heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs. I pray for the recovery of the injured."

Arjun Kapoor wrote, "Saddened & Shocked to hear of the cowardly attack on our CRPF Jawans in Pulwama my heart goes out to their families..."

Lyricist Javed Akhtar penned, "I have a special relation with CRPF. I have written Their anthem Before putting the pen to paper I met a number of CRPF officers n what ever I learned my respect admiration and love for these braves increased by many a fold Today I share the grief of the dear ones of the martyrs".

Gully Boy star Ranveer Singh tweeted, "Disgusted at the cowardly terror attack on the CRPF soldiers in Pulwama - my sincere condolences to the families of our brave jawans. Saddened. Angry."

Priyanka Chopra wrote, "Absolutely shocked by the attack in Pulwama. Hate is NEVER the answer!!! Strength to the families of the martyred jawans and the CRPF soldiers injured in the attack."

Richa Chadha expressed, "8 men martyred in Kashmir. Jaish proudly claims responsibility. Cowards! What a travesty ! Peace is the need of the hour, the people will see through this desperate and cowardly violence ! Condolences to family! Very sad."

Reports suggest that the terrorists triggered the blast while the CRPF personnel were plying through the Srinagar-Jammu highway.
