Bollywood couples take divorce-maturity to a new level
The new-age definition of ‘no love lost’ is to not let love be lost even when marriages end. Bollywood couples are taking divorce-maturity to a new level for their children’s sake.
Topping the ‘mature divorcees’ list are Farhan Akhtar and his ex-wife Adhuna, who parted ways in January 2016. Ever since, they have maintained a calm bearing. A close friend of the couple says, “Farhan and Adhuna continue to look out for each other, and it’s not only for their children.”
This post-divorce idea of being together in separation is also shared by Hrithik Roshan and his former wife Sussanne Khan. Both have confessed earlier that there is no plan of a reunion; however, they will continue to be friends and function as a team to bring up their sons.
After staying aloof initially, Malaika Arora also joined the club of chilled-out divorcees! The model-actress continues to be spotted at her ex-husband Arbaaz Khan’s family functions, even though her relation with the ex-hubby is not quite hunky-dory. A designer-friend of Malaika says, “It all depends on what separates a couple. In Farhan-Adhuna’s case, there was no bitterness in the parting. They just outgrew each other. But in the case of Hrithik-Sussanne and Arbaaz-Malika, there was a lot of acrimony during parting. Hrithik and Sussanne have covered up their mutual grievances well for the sake of the children.”
In any case, how to be friends with an ex is a secret formula in Bollywood. When Aamir Khan married his college sweetheart Reena, no one thought it would ever end. But it did! “There is a certain amount of interest in keeping the bonding with the family alive after divorce. when,” a hotshot director quips. But even Kiran seems to be extremely fond of Aamir’s children from the first marriage.
