Exclusive: Pay disparity keeps Rangoon stars Shahid and Saif from promoting the film

Mumbai: Actors and actresses around the globe have been expressing their resentment over pay disparity that is allegedly prevalent both in the East and West. While most of the actresses in Bollywood are severely underpaid compared to their male counterparts, one actress who has managed to earn some extra bucks is powerhouse performer Kangana Ranaut.

We hear that the three-time National Award winner, who will appear as Jaanbaaz Julia in the war drama ‘Rangoon’, has irked her co-stars Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan because the makers paid her more for her part in the film than them. As a mark of protest, the actors have decided to promote the film at snail’s pace and are hell-bent on avoiding doing promotional activities with the ‘Queen’ actress.

With the film’s release just 10 days away, one would expect the trio to bombard our television sets and social media accounts with pictures from various promotions but in reality Shahid and Kangana have appeared on only one TV show and Saif will appear on just one chat show with Kangana this Sunday.
