Subhash Ghai meets real-life Dangal wrestlers and promotes filmmaking
Mumbai: Recently the ace filmmaker, Subhash Ghai attended the Pravasi Divas celebration as the chief guest. He was invited by the honourable Chief Minister of Haryana, Mr. Manohar Lal Khattar in Gurgaon.
Being invited as a guest of honour by Haryana government for a two-day festival, Subhash Ghai held a detailed discussion with the Chief Minister and government officials to set up a world class media and entertainment hub, including studios, theatres and training centres. Mr Khattar extended full support of government to the veteran filmmaker’s vision who has already set a world class state-of-the-art educational campus Whistling Woods International in Mumbai.
In his speech, Subhash Ghai said, “It’s high time when fast developing Haryana must focus to develop media and entertainment industry, including audio visual studios and training centres.”
The success of the film ‘Dangal’ has boosted the confidence of the government and the people to develop a cinema and media industry at the earliest.
The showman also met the real-life wrestlers Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat, whose story served as an inspiration in Aamir Khan’s super-hit film, ‘Dangal’. The beautiful ladies shared their experience with him, on how a film has boosted their sport and spirit of every Haryanvi. Both the sisters were pleasantly surprised when Ghai spoke to them in Haryanvi by revealing that he graduated from Rohtak- Garh of Haryana.
Subhash Ghai left no stone unturned to promote Indian Cinema and culture amongst the audiences of our country and cinema lovers across the globe. The man has provided a platform for many budding filmmakers through his film school that has helped them to pursue their dream.
