Karan Johar knows what sells, right?
Bollywood has its own hypocritical ways. On the one hand, both Karan Johar and his writer of Unsuitable Boy, claim that Karan’s biography has many other interesting facets, and that his sexual orientation is just a passing mention. Yet Karan has had his share of trolling on social media where people are cracking jokes about whether he is gay or not.
Karan has taken on the trolls, saying he was very close to talking about his sexuality, but is afraid that if he does so, he might just get jailed for openly talking it. Now that the sexual orientation bit has been well publicised, Karan is talking about his problem with Kajol, who he turned into an overnight star.
Next, Karan may have a problem with someone misquoting him there too. The point is that if these aren’t discussed in detail, then why use Karan’s sexual orientation and publicise it like it’s the only interesting thing in the book? Who can know better than Karan about what sells? And if in this case his sexual orientation sells, so be it.
