Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra are set to take on challenging roles in Meghna Gulzar’s Sam Bahadur. While Vicky Kaushal brings the protagonist’s character to life, Sanya will play his wife, Silloo and Fatima essays the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
Sanya and Fatima first starred together in the Aamir Khan film Dangal and followed it up with roles in Anurag Basu’s Ludo, apart from doing a commercial together. “Sanya and Fatima bring more character and substance to the story of Sam Bahadur. Their characters are among the most influential personalities, and, I am very excited to be working with the two of them for the first time,” says Vicky about the Ronnie Screwvala-backed film.
“Behind every great man is a woman, and Silloo was that support and strength to Sam Manekshaw. I’m honoured to essay this role and bring to light her influence and the integral part she played in this war hero’s life,” says Sanya.
