Padmavati row: Queen of Bundi Mayuri Singh says let it release first
Mumbai: Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming period drama Padmavati is facing a lot of problems even before its release. A lot of people including the Rajput Karni Sena and some political leaders are against Padmavati's release as they believe it has a objectionable dream sequence between Rani Padmini and Alauddin Khilji, played by Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh respectively.
However, the makers have cleared time and again that there is no such scene in the movie. Many people are demanding ban against the movie without even seeing it.
Queen Mayuri Singh of Rajasthan's Bundi on Saturday came out in support of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati.
The Queen told ANI, "Let the movie Padmavati release first, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has assured us of nothing demeaning in it."
The Queen, however, said that if Padmavati has anything objectionable in it, then they will protest against it and Bhansali.
On the related note, a petition was also filed against the movie's release in the Supreme Court. SC, however, dismissed it.
Starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, Padmavati will also have music by Bhansali. The film is being produced under Bhansali's banner and Viacom Motion Pictures. It is scheduled to release on December 1, in a special 3D format.
