Has Karan Johar found his new heroine in Parineeti Chopra?
Mumbai: Karan Johar is back to direction after last year’s Ranbir Kapoor starrer hit love story Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Karan is helming a 30-minute film for Ashi Dua and Ronnie Screwvala's anthology film alongside other directors like Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee. The anothogoy of four short films will be based on the theme of love and lust. It is said that Karans’ segment is a sensuous love story that revolves around a young woman longing for a lover. Buzz is, Parineeti Chopra will be seen playing this character in Karan Johar’s film.
In 2013, Karan had directed a short film with Rani Mukerji in the lead for Ashi's debut production, Bombay Talkies. That one too had featured four short films, by Karan, Zoya Akhtar, Anurag Kashyap and Dibakar Banerjee. It was an anthology celebrating 100 years of Indian cinema.
As per the reports in Mumbai Mirror, Ashi had confirmed that none of the stories are a sequel to their respective originals. "All of them will be about different equations of love and lust. I can't say which short I love the most since they are all my babies but it is great to enjoy the film in totality — like I Love New York or Paris Je'taime, where you enjoy some moments a lot more but you take home the film as a whole. That's the idea here as well," she explained.
It is being said that the film which is set to release next year might be screened at the prestigious Berlin International Film Festival in 2018.
However, Karan Johar has denied rumours of casting any actor for his short film. He recently tweeted. “Lots of speculation on my short film for #bombaytalkies ....I have yet to cast it and am only filming in November!”
