Khushi Mukherjee exposes showbiz' veteran who tricked people of 20 cr

Mumbai: Southern actress Khushi Mukherjee has exposed a lady named Sumita Gopal Lal for allegedly running away with a whopping twenty crore rupees in 2003. Actress claims that Sumita has wisely invested a major portion in a leading fashion designer’s franchise.

Almost 20 victims (one of them being Khushi’s mother) have registered a complaint against Sumita in police demanding a strict action. Victims said they will fight till the justice has been provided by the court.

Apparently, it's been over 14 years and the case is still in the court. The sessions court said during one of the proceedings that it is “difficult to digest” that she had ‘duped’ people for 20 crore in very short span. However, the bench is trying to gather more evidence against this ‘lady Natwarlal’ who is out on bail.

It was reported that the lady has invested a huge amount in one of leading fashion designers’ franchise with whom she is associated for more than 9 years.

The designer is one of the popular names in showbiz and several times Bollywood stars have donned her wedding wear.

One of the complainant’s daughter and actress Khushi Mukherjee said, “I am raising this as my mother is one of her victim. She has lost her all her savings. It feels sad that the case is still pending and the verdict is yet to be declared. Sumita is leading a luxurious life by eating out our hard earned money. I trust in Indian Judiciary and hope the verdict comes in our favour.”

“I have all the proofs with me and have also produced the complaint copies to the court,” she added.

“I went to designer’s office with all the proofs and I was told that proper action will be taken. But they also politely turned down and refrained to take any action against her,” Khushi concluded.

However, the court has seized Sumita’s property and assets and let her out on bail.
