Shah Rukh Khan is rich, famous and ‘not a terrorist’. Despite that, he gets detained at American airports every time. Khan was detained once again on Friday at the Los Angeles airport, for which the US state department eventually apologised.
However, this is the third time that the actor has been detained and he has one man to thank — the Karnataka-born Riyaz Bhatkal, founder of Indian Mujahideen — who is on the most-wanted list of the Interpol. Reports suggest that Bhatkal may have made a fake passport under the alias of ‘Shah Rukh Khan’ which got the name blacklisted, and continues to cause the Bollywood star a lot of discomfort.
However, hours after SRK was detained, Twitter went abuzz with jokes on the superstar and soon the jokes started trending. “Don Ka Intezaar To 11 Mulko Ki Police Kar Rahi Hai... But US is Not Included in those 11 Mulk!” tweeted a user citing the 50-year-old actor’s famous dialogue from his movie Don.
Another user posted, “US police detained #ShahRukhKhan at airport and Indian police can’t even detain an actor on Footpath.” But probably the funniest of it all had to be Shah Rukh Khan’s tweet, the actor who took the “discomfort” in his stride tweeted, “The brighter side is while waiting caught some really nice Pokemons.”
