Exclusive: You need to up your dancing game with Tiger around, says Niddhi

The city lass is awaiting the release of her Bollywood debut film Munna Michael with Tiger Shroff.

A few years ago, she was a pretty lass who dreamt of making it into films. And now, nammooru hudugi Nidhhi Agerwal is living her dream as she’s gearing up for the release of her big Bollywood debut Munna Michael, in which she’s paired opposite Tiger Shroff. A true blue Bengalurean, this model-turned-actress had to go through four rounds of auditions to bag the role. Considering she’s playing a dancer in the movie, she says, “I trained in ballet for seven years. That definitely helped me during the film. If you learn any kind of dance, it helps you catch another form easily. And if there’s someone like Tiger (Shroff) in the film, you need to up your dancing game.”

Nidhhi admits that she felt quite a bit of pressure while doing the flick. “From acting to dancing, I felt a sense of responsibility to perform, especially ‘cos Tiger and Nawazuddin Siddiqui are such good performers. But I have no complaints as it pushed me to perform better,” says the actress. While growing up, li’l Nidhhi would obsessively watch TV and hope to see herself on telly one day. “I wanted to get into films, but didn’t know how to get there, so I was a bit lost in between,” reveals the artiste, who faced several obstacles when she moved to Mumbai. As a single girl, she found it tough to find a house for herself. “My parents came down and met people and then I got a house. Living away from home is really difficult. You’re not in your comfort zone anymore and need to motivate yourself when you’ve had a tough day. Nobody cares if you’re tired or if you’ve eaten or not. You need to do everything yourself. I also don’t have any friends in Bombay, but I knew that if I wanted make it here, I had to face the situation,” Nidhhi adds.

As for the city she loves the most, Nidhhi breaks into a smile the second she hears the word ‘Bengaluru’. “I’ve lived there all my life. I used to live in Ulsoor and then moved to Dollars Colony. I miss my parents, sister and my dog,” says the alumnus of Vidyashilp Academy,” she says. She also misses the idly-dosa terribly and shares, “I love the filter coffee at Airlines too. The minute I land here, I think ‘I’m home.’”

The doting daughter reveals that what matters to her most is that her parents are happy with her decision. “They trusted me enough to let me pursue my passion. We are very normal, simple people, so all this is beyond unimaginable for us. When my folks talk to me, they want to know if I’m being treated well. That means more to them than success,” says Nidhhi. On a parting note, we wish the B’luru maiden good luck and she says, “Bangalore girls always make it in Bollywood.” Amen to that!
