Sussanne Khan breaks silence, reveals reason behind her divorce with Hrithik Roshan

Mumbai: Hrithik Roshan took everyone by surprise when he announced split from his then-wife Sussanne Khan after 17 long years. There were speculations about Hrithik's philandering and Sussanne's closeness to Arjun Rampal but the two have maintained a dignified silence.

Two years after divorcing the actor, Sussanne has spoken about why she decided to end her marriage. In an interview to Femina, she said: "We had reached a stage in our lives where I decided that it's better we weren't together. It was important to be aware and not be in a false relationship. We are close (friends)."

The couple have two children together- Hrehaan, 10 and Hridhaan, 8. Hrithik and Sussanne have not let the divorce affect their relationship with their children.

She further said, "We do chat a lot even though we don't hangout together anymore. But above all, we are very committed to our children. We are respectful towards each other. When children are involved, it's important to put our differences aside and protect them."

In April, Sussanne tweeted that she supported her ex-husband in his public feud with actress Kangana Ranaut. She wrote,
