Mumbai: After impressing audiences with her acting skills in films like ‘Mr. and Mrs. Iyer’, ‘Page 3’, ‘Omkara’, ‘Wake Up Sid’ among others, Konkona Sen Sharma is donning the director’s hat for the first time with ‘A Death in the Gunj.’
Instead of directing a ‘masala’ film, the actress has chosen to direct a content-driven film for her debut, which is paying off brilliantly.
Konkona recently bagged the award for Best Director at the New York Film Festival for the film.
The Indian release has been delayed for a while, but the film is now finally set to release on June 2.
‘A Death in the Gunj’ is an atmospheric thriller set in 1979 at McCluskieganj, near Ranchi and stars Kalki Koechlin, Ranvir Shorey, Vikrant Massey, Gulshan Devaiah, Tillotama Shome, Jim Sarbh, Tanuja and late Om Puri.
The film is jointly produced by MacGuffin Pictures and Studioz IDrream....
